Just wondering....I'd really like to put a bird feeder up on our deck for the kitties that are upstairs. And hang one down from the deck for the kitties that are downstairs.
But....I've got the outside kitties, pets in the garage, semi-ferals in the garage if I can catch them, & a few ferals. Obviously, to them, it's a lunch buffet!

How can I attach two bird feeders to the deck so the outside kitties won't kill/chase off all the birds?

Here is a pic of our deck railing(and Cow taking a bath
)

The deck goes out 20-30 feet(can't remember)....so I'd almost have to hang a birdfeeder close to the house under there so the kitties can see it....would birds come to it?

Over the river and through the woods...
OMG what a awesome view! How high up is your deck? Could you extend metal brackets from the railing to hang the feeders on? Narrow enough that they won't walk on it, but sturdy enough to hold the feeder? I know, nothing is too narrow for a cat...but it's an idea.

Ummmm.....10-15 feet?
There is a door in the basement that comes out right underneath of it.

I can think about a metal bracket, don't know how thrilled everyone will be about me putting a bracket on the nice deck though!

Watching the robins sing!
You do have a gorgeous view! I don't know what to recommend for a feeder - the problem is that with whatever you put up, you will attract ground feeding birds who will eat the seed that is spilled - and the only safe way to protect them, is to have your feeder away from any type of bush, tree, etc that could allow a predator to approach the birds unseen.
