Ok, the adoption papers said " Mixed" so Im not sure..... What breed is Tonka? Himalayan? Ragdoll?
Btw, what is a ragdoll?
Btw, what is a ragdoll?

Well the lady is a very small shelter.. maybe 5 cats? And I don't think she's very familiar with breeds. I thought himmis had a flatter faceOriginally Posted by Bella713
He looks like a Himalayan to me, I have had 3 of them...He looks like Sophia except much bigger and a different color
I don't know why it says mixed, maybe they don't think he's a purebred, who knows, I think at a shelter they are just guessing half the time.Purebred or not he's a living DOLL
Well the show cats doOriginally Posted by Dixie_Darlin

Poor quality?Originally Posted by white cat lover
More than likely, he's someone's excuse of a "purebred"....& very poor quality. The HS here just had a "purebred" Persian that didn't have the flat face!!!People were breeding them....
When you get a purebred, they are to be of certain standards/looks. Like, for example, Persians, they have smooshed faces. The one that came in to the HS here did not have the smooshed face. He could very well be a product of a BYB or something of that nature. He could be a Himilayan, just not look quite "right" or "up to standards".Originally Posted by Dixie_Darlin

I can tell you for sure he's not a Birman - Birman must have white feet. Ragdoll is a possibility, but of course, as you know, no papers and you can't really call a cat a "purebred".Originally Posted by ProudKittieMom
I thought that about himmy's too, I am thinking more ragdoll or Birman for Tonka tho
(I also just did a double check at kittie breed sites, and he looks like those 2)
Mostly that just means they have some markings they shouldn't - poor quality for a show ring, not anything else. Look at my Smudgie...he's beautiful, but since he doesn't have a white chin he could never be shown.Originally Posted by Dixie_Darlin

He certainly is a beauty though.
Well, I'd never try to show him.... wouldn't begin to know how anywaysOriginally Posted by kluchetta

Is his thick fur all over or just on his bib and britches?Originally Posted by Dixie_Darlin

And I'd never try to breed him..... couldn't/wouldn't if I wanted to *snip*
I just don't know what to tell people when they ask what he is
Here's some good ones.. he's longhaired ALL OVEROriginally Posted by kluchetta

If you search on ragdolls, there are three patterns - pointed, mitted, and bi-color. If he is a ragdoll, he is probably a pointed (or mitted.)
Do you have any other photos?
