My 2 year old cat has been hacking pretty much since we got her 3 months ago. And she throws up occasionally. Usually she is quite lively and playful but last night after she threw up, she has become very lethargic, and weak. She has not eaten and just lays in the same spot all day.She is breathing fast and heavy and making a chirping sound when she breathes. I have a vet appointment tomorrow in the late afternoon but i just dont think i can wait that long. I really would like someone to help me please!

Honestly, that doesn't sound like hairballs to me.

If her breathing is labored, I would not wait until tomorrow. I would go now.

open mouth breathing in a cat is not normal and is an emergency. It sounds more like asthma or maybe a heart problem.

Take her to the vet ASAP and let us know!

I would go fast to emergency clinic. Hope your baby is going to be ok.

I agree. Legarthy and not eating is not good. please take her to the vet asap.

My long haired cat had hairballs, even with treatments and special food, but once she coughed them up she was fine. They never made her act sick or different.
