So, my coworker is a member of a bulldog club and owns three herself. She's the one that took one of her dogs to Westminster this past year.
Anyway, her husband got a call from the police in another county (they live in Zionsville, the police called from Newton County) asking if they knew anything about a bulldog that was stolen from its owner some time ago in Lafayette, IN. Her husband called her and asked her if she knew anything, but instead of just saying no and going on her way, she did some calling around.
She eventually ended up calling the paper here in Lafayette and they had the number of a woman who had an add placed about 7 months ago, stating her dog was stolen. The dog that police had called about was her missing dog!!!

My coworker said EVERYONE was crying when she came to get the dog. The dispatcher that was on the phone with my coworker's husband said, "There's not a dry eye in this place."
It all took place within two hours of her husband getting the phone call. The police said they got their number after contacting Connie Chambers (the woman quoted in the article) .
