The only place on that list I've been to is Mackinac Island. Quaint little place with lots of little shops... fudge shops

Though, I found Mackinac city to be a bit more interesting... and it had more candy and fudge shops.

Our family vacations usually hit some out of the way places and avoided "tourist traps". Shenandoah Valley is good for natural wonders such as the Natural Bridge and several caves.

It's probably because we are tourists that we see more of the touristy places I suppose...

My late father loved to travel and being the youngest, I went almost everywhere with my parents. SO, when they did the touristy bits, so did I!

I haven't even been to the States yet which is funny since I live close to the border. I've only been to one of those places on the list, Rocky Mountains, although it was on the Canadian side.
