I have rescued two Japanese Bobtails from a somewhat neglectful situation. They both have uterine and bladder infections for which they are on Clavamox. They have been eaten up by fleas in the past and are thin. I am a German Shepherd Rescuer and I don't know that much about cats. Can someone recommend a good supplement that will help their skin/coat and overall health. I am currently feeding them Hills C/D because of the bladder infections. They just got spayed. One of them has some leakage, I'm hoping just due to the infections. I work for a vet but they aren't a lot of help sometimes. I am trying to find a rescue or a forever home for these sweet girl kitties.

Since there are on a RX food talk with your vet...

MOST quality cat foods dont need supplementation

Maybe post the rescue of them in the SOS section of the forums

I'd ask your vet about a B12 supplement. I was giving my kitty a B12 shot once a week and it dramatically helped her skin and coat and overall health. Her fur used to get very dull and flakey and the B12 really helped with that, making it nice and shiny. It also gave her a lot more energy and she would play a lot more while she was on it, as she had gotten very lethargic prior to giving her the B12 supplement. We were using the B12 for her irritable bowel problem, but it helped her in so many other ways as well.

My vet told me to try an Omega 3 and 6 fatty acid supplement when I asked him what I could do about my cat's dull, flaky coat. Its only available for dogs, but its safe to use on cats. I just put some on his food once a day, and its done an amazing job. His coat is now silk and shiny.

MOST quality foods have more of those than lesser quality ... what are you feeding
