Hi everyone; I've got four new baby kittens two weeks old today.. all of the eyes have opened except for one of the kittens.. he's got only one eye open and the other is shut.. kind of crusted shut. I'm kind of worried about it, like maybe he got kicked in the face by one of the other kittens.. no scars or blood or anything like that.. is this normal?

Hi and welcome.

I would try gently wiping his eye with some cooled boiled water and a cotton wool ball.

If it crusts over again or looks gunky I would get him checked over by the vet as it could be an infection and infections in kittens can quickly turn nasty.

Hope all is well and please keep us updated on your fur babies.

Your welcome.....and dont panic im sure its nothing but its always best to be on the safe side with these precious little babies isnt it.

Mine are 3 weeks tday and are coming over for snuggles and baby belly rubs. Its just the sweetest thing isnt it! LOL

Look forward to hearing how you get on. Oooo and some pics of your fur family would be lovely.

Just on a final note is momma cat being kept strictly inside? Only reason I mention this is she can very quickly (within days of delivering) become pregnant again. She will need to be kept inside until she is able to be spayed when the kittens are around 8 weeks old.
