Has anyone else had a survey pop up here on TCS?

I was just moving between forums here on the site a few minutes ago, and suddenly a new window opened with a request to participate in a survey of some kind. I didn't have any other sites open, and I can't imagine how this thing appeared -- unless it's some new kind of marketing technique that TCS is permitting now. That seems unlikely, though... surely they would have designed the window to show that it was legitimate, and not some kind of spammer hacking in.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Thats strange, i havent had anything pop up. Did it actually say it was from TCS? It could have been a pop up that appears once you close a website, thats how they keep annoying you.

No. I have a popup blocker in my browser and firewall.

Download "Adware" and run it. And delete everything it finds. Chances are you have spyware on your computer.

No I havn't had that happen. I have a pop up blocker....but that hasn't caught anything on here either.

I have made some changes to ad layout, but no pop-ups whatsoever should come though, only the usual banners at the top of pages in forums which don't have sponsors.

Yes, I did have something like that come on mine yesterday..........only it was trying to down load something to my computer.I ran my Nortan Antivirus and it caught something.

None for me, but I do have a pop up blocker and spyware / virus protection running all the time.

Seen as Anne says there shouldn't be any, I would check your computer

I'm pretty sure you mean ADAWARE..not adware..adware is what you don't want

No, I don't get popups either, and my puter is messed up as it is

Thanks for the information -- I'm really thrown by this, because I'm on Mac, and I've never had to deal with this sort of thing before. I'll do some housecleaning here and see what I find...
