I don't know why I am posting this, other than I can't stop thinking about them and maybe it will help.
About a month ago my parents put their two cats, Duchess, and Misty to sleep. Duchess was going on 15 years old. She was a cat I actually bred, given to my parents out of one of my litters years ago when I raised siamese. She was a beautiful blue point girl with attitude.
Misty was a DLH my parents got a couple of years later.... they were both senior cats, but not old in cat terms really....
Anyway, they became sick in March and vets felt it might have been related to the food recalls. My parents had both put to sleep right then and there.
I was angry at their impulsiveness at the time, but now when I think about it, older cats probably wouldn't have had a chance anyway so I suppose they were spared a lot of pain
I miss them though, especially Duchess....
