Hi!

My mom's yorkie eats Science Diet U/D and I was wondering if there were any alternative brands that he could have for that prescription?

He has a liver shunt and I think it is supposed to be low protein food.

Any suggestions appreciated. Their only shopping options are grocery store, wal-mart and Petsmart.

Ask for specifics on... MINIUMUM and maximum... in protein fat carbs .... and anything else the vet wants or doesnt want in the food...

ALso remember that there are other RX makers

How old is he???

My yorkie is eating homemede and raw with her liver issues

He is about 5 or 6 years old. I'll have her find out what the exact amounts he is supposed to have. He is also hypoglycemic but doesn't have too much problem with it.

I am not familiar with dog food so wouldn't know who the other rx makers would be. He has been on the SD for about a year but he's not crazy about eating it.
