hi the mucus plug is like a blob of a pinkish mucus, cometimes you will see it other times she will clean it away before you see it. what you saw sounds like a discharge which can occur up to a week before delivery.
some cats nest like crazy digging around looking in dark places etc. but some cats wont do any nesting but might just sleep a lot in there chosen spot and you will sometimes hear them purring in there chosen spot.

I ask because Amber had 3 kittens yesterday and she was huge we thought she was having 5 or 6.

it's just that i saw the vet friday and she said that there was more than 3 in there and also when i took her today she said she could feel another two or three but none in the birth canal so we are waiting and hoping she has them tonite (a nurse has took her home to keep a close eye on her) if not a she will have a c-section tomorrow she's not in distress at all and is really layed back also she seems happy,it will be a shame if she does have a c-section even though she's had 3 already will keep you up-dated
