Hello everyone i just moved to my new home yesterday i have 2 cats both females. One of the cats run and around sniffing around and plays she eats. But the other one just hides and doesn't eat or drink i don't know what to do i think she might be really scared. I've tried putting the food up to her but she won't eat it i need help has this happened to anyone before?

aww honey
your cats are just settling in their new home
its will be all new and smell completely different to what they are used too.

Just give them time to settle in and get to know the place in their own time

Leave food in the same place, so they know where it is, if you move it about to try to encourage eating, this will confuse them. They can smell food, so the one who's not eating will soon come out.

Just keep your eye on them while they are settling, make sure they are poopping and such. In time they will be fine - keep us posted.

ps - welcome to the site

Hiya

I moved recently and Humphrey was exactly the same as you say your cat is doing. After about a week he settled down and is absolutely fine now.

Hopefully things will settle down and your cat will enjoy your new home!

I agree with the above two posters. Don't worry too much about it. You've got one curious cat and one shy cat. I'll bet within a week your shy cat will be out and about. With cats, their curiosity is stronger than their fear.
