Hi : )

I am looking for a new car, and would love any recommendations anyone has. I don't know that I have too many specifications as to what I want, really. I've been driving a 1993 Dodge Spirit since I was 16, so now that I have my first job in the field since graduating, I want to treat myself, but also because my poor Spirit hasn't been quite as reliable since it hit 155,000 miles
In the last month at my last job, it died three times in one month, twice on the highway and once in the middle of a major intersection (fun!) so I am looking for a sturdy car that is reliable. That's not too much to ask, right?
So, what do you drive, what do you want to drive, and what looks like a good car?

I have a 2003 Chevy Cavalier. They are inexpensive and VERY reliable.... I've never once had a problem... before this car I had a 2000 Chevy Cavalier and that one was very reliable as well (until I smashed it up
) So I've drove cavaliers for a while now and they are cheap and reliable!!! Let us know what you decide!

I drive a Nissan Sentra, this is my 2nd one and I love it. It is almost 10 years old but still runs great, it just passed inspection last week. The new ones are really beautiful but no need to buy one just now. I hate to say this but American made cars are just not as good as foreign cars, at least thru my experience.

I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt. They no longer produce cavaliers, and the cobalt is the upgrade. It's design is to compete with their foreign counterparts. Great on gas milage, and lots of options. VERY reliable, and the best part is, you don't have to get an oil change for 10 months with average use! I took it to my uncle at 3,00 and he said it was clear, then looked in my book, and that's what it said. It also let me know when it needed to be done.

I have a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier.. I've had it three years and I love it! They're really good on gas and I'm seeing them for under $5,000. I've never had any problems with it, and even though it's almost 10 years old, it still looks really nice.

The only other car I've been interested in lately is the Ford Focus.. and I've heard they're a lot like the Cavalier.. just the newer ones are expensive..

My best friend has a Rav 4, and he says it's the best car he's ever owned. My brother just bought his second Explorer, after driving his first one over 150,000 miles. He says they're TANKS, and he loves them.

Thanks for all the responses! I did see something that I liked, a 2006 Ford Focus, and the price is right...it might be the one! Also I did see a Mazda 3 (and 6) and they are verrry nice : ) I was waiting to buy until next weekend, but it's so hard to wait...lol
When I do decide, and if the sale goes well (fingers crossed!), I'll let everyone know : )
Thanks again!

Get a Honda. You'll never regret it.

The new Accord Coupe will make it's debut this fall too (if you can wait that long). If you want a cheap but reliable car, the Fit is awesome (starts at around $13k for new).
