The Fire's ...

have brought us some smoke. This is what it looks like outside my house right now..



It smells horrible too! I've got oils burning all over the house because the smell is coming in through the A/C.

I hope the wind takes out soon. It's killing my allergies

BTW-whats all the smoke from?

Do you have a basement - the smoke will be worse higher up.

Oh my goodness! How close are you to the fires? I hope that you are in no danger. In fact, I hope that those fires are soon under control and cause no more damage and destruction!

To be honest, I'm not sure how far away they are.... couple hundred miles. The wind is carrying it down here.

from time to time when smell becomes unbearable you can try to wear the "hospital" mask (but make it wet first)it should help

i remember being WVA when it seemed the whole state was burning.
we could not even fly into the airport.

stay safe sweetie- please have all your bags/pet carriers/ important papers/etc ready should ya'll need to evacuate i'll keep everyone in your area and others affected by these fires in my prayers

Heard about the fires this morning - not only Georgia but Catalina Island (off Southern California), too.

OMG, it was like that in South Florida a few days ago. I heard that we have 223 fires in the state of Florida. (down from 236) And the drought is not helping either. We are under a water restriction and people in Broward county and Palm Beach are in Phase III. (we are in phase II)

Same thing is happening here in Southern MN too- there are fires up north, and we're getting the effect of it. Its been smoggy and crappy all day because of it. Blech!

Do you have a filter on your A/C unit you can clean??

You should take largest towels that you have make them wet roll them up and place them in front of the openings at the base of your door.

This should help to protect you from the carbon monoxides that can enter into your home.
