No Mr Police Officer, we weren't lighting fire crackers!

I'm half asleep on my couch and someone pounds on my door. It's the police. Apparently someone was lighting fire crackers and throwing them off their balcony. This, of course, annoyed my downstairs neighbors, and caused them to call the authorities.

Now, I understand the logic of pounding on my door and asking if I committed said crime, but when I answer the door in short shorts, covered in flour and cat fur it isn't necessary to laugh at me. I know I look a mess, but pointing it out doesn't help.

Now, when DH rounds the corner in his partially constructed wizard costume asking me if the hat looks right should not cause you to roll your eyes. Remember, dear officer, you were looking for some hoodlums lighting fire crackers NOT the crazy couple in the building.

That does sound like something crazy enough to be out of a sitcom.

Are you proud to know that they'll probably be discussing you back at the station later? "... you won't believe what I saw earlier"

Are you sure that your husband wasn't out on the balcony practising new and potentially explosive spells?

I am wondering about the wizard costume too, sounds fascinating. And did the hat look right?

No, I was thinking that it was about time that TCSers started a bail fund for Bit and like-minded felines.

PS: wizard costume? LARP? Con Cosplay? Come on, throw us a bone! Err, I mean a healthy kitty snack.

The wizard costume is for a LARP (live action role play) and for a birthday party for my niece. She has a thing for wizards.

As for the hoodlums, I'm assuming they were not caught because as soon as the cop left the small explosions started again.

It seems like the kitties are a chip of the old meowmy block. Can that happen without genetics in common? Power of contamination?

Yes... and they assured me they didn't do it. I have my doubts though.
