My cat Pooka is allergic to something in commercial wet cat food. She can only eat pure meat foods, one without fillers. I have no idea what she is allergic too, but even Natural Balance Venison and Green Pea wet food made her ill. She gets loose stool. My problem is I was feeding her the Sheba that come in the tub, and she loved it....but it was a dollar a tub and it was a tiny amount of food. She was always hungry after. So I bought some Wysong Au Jus wet food, and she hates it. She wont eat it. It does smell awful bland, so I was wondering if their is anything I could do to make it more appetizing? I have tried adding warm water, heating it up....everything like that. I am at the end of my rope, I cant afford to feed her 2 tubs of Sheba a day! HELP!

P.S. She doesnt eat dry food, she wont touch it.

Do you think a little grated Parmesan cheese would help without causing more irritation? I'm trying to convert a kitty to raw and some regular Kraft grated Parmesan helps get him licking. Just a light sprinkle on top is enough to get him started.

On a side note...try not to use the Wysong Au Jus as 100% of the diet...it is not balanced for that purpose.

Maybe try putting Tuna juice, chicken broth or something else that she likes on top of it? Tucker's really picky when it comes to his food and he loves it when I sprinkle some crushed Wildside Salmon treats on top of anything

I have heard that Brewer's Yeast flakes are enticing...I haven't tried it myself.

MuleNag is right about the au jus..it's not a complete diet.

Have you tried any of the grain free wet foods?

Thanks, I will try those tips. I know Au Jus isnt balanced, she gets a supplement with it. As far as the tuna goes...so what....just sprinkle tuna over it? And what grain free wet foods?

Well, I just pull the tuna chunks out and break them up with the spoon and then mix it through their raw... but I'm sure that the juice would work, or even a smaller amount of tuna. Mine *love* tuna.
