Last night I drove a friend home from having girls night at my house (pizza, wings etc.) I came home and Duke had emptied the garbage and had been knawing on a chicken wing bone. I am trying to keep a close eye on him just in case he might have swalloed somthing he shouldn't have but is there anything else I should do??

Do you remember what might have been in the garbage? If there were onions, chocolate, coffee, or plant clippings from certain types of plants (like lilies), I'd call the vet right away. Otherwise, just watch for any changes in eating, drinking or elimination patterns and take him in right away if you notice anything.

I wouldn't panic. Just keep an eye on his behaviour, litter box usage and whether he is eating normally. Odds are he is fine. You know him better than anyone, so if he starts to act differently, then I would consider a vet visit.

what I'm worries about is if he ate a chicken bone I know they are bad for dogs to eat because they splinter.
Duke seems to be fine, no excessive drinking he seems to have having bowl movements. I guess I was probably overeacting.

Better safe than sorry. Hopefully he just managed to gnaw on the one you found and didn't swallow anything.

No I think you were right to be concerned about a cooked chicken bone, but since Duke is OK so far, he should be fine. Just keep an eye on him.

I think you were right to worry. I don't know if chicken bones are bad for cats, but I'd be worried too. My Jordan is a garbage can raider so I no longer throw any food item (or q-tips) away in the garbage can. I can't even throw away aluminum foil that has had pizza in it in the garbage. I came home one day to aluminum foil in bits all over my carpet.

Duke,
It's naughty to take things out of the garbage, no matter how good they smell.
It's not nice to worry your mom like that.
