New to site, but looking for advice

Thread Starter
I am new to the site, but hoping to be able to network with fellow pet owners to locate a good veternarian in the New York City/western Long Island area.
I have three cats, all Oriental Shorthairs, that my wife and I got from Southern California Siamese Rescue. They are amazing little cats and we love them dearly. Originally we adopted two in October, and lost one in December to the Menu foods debacle (currently in law suit) so we experienced how important it is to have quality vet care. Unfortunately, due to a job relocation, we will be moving from sunny San Diego county to either Garden City or Brooklyn NY in early July. I am hoping to get some referrals to a vet and maybe a pet sitter in the area.

Appreciate any advice any one can give me...

Keith and Kara and of course our fur balls: Viola, Rumbles, and Shakespurr

Welcome to TCS. Sorry to hear about the loss of one of your wonderful cats. I wish that I could help wih a vet recommendation. but I live in N.H. Have you gone to and searched for the local rescue league near where you will be living? I am sure that they could give you a referral. One of my local rescues recommended my current vet to me, when I moved to southern N.H.
Looking forward to some photos!

I can help you find a vet in New York City or Long Island. I can most likely help you find a pet sitter, too. Let me know when you know where you will be living. I have an excellent vet in Manhattan. I have a friend with four cats who lives on Long Island (not very far out) and I'm sure she can recommend a vet.

I'm so sorry about your cat.

Wishing you the least stressful move possible,
