Thank you all for viewing!
I have a very nice cat named Spike. We got him from the SPCA and hes my baby!
I have a question.
Today when i came home from work the cat was very odd.. He was walking very slow and Puffing up while staring at the walls. Then he will go under the bed and hide. My cat never hides, He always comes for attention 24/7. I went to him and he just stared from wall to wall. I left the room he came out for 5 mins then he heard something and ran and i mean fully went skiddish and ran under the bed and puffed up. He never hissed at me once. I left for about an 2 hrs came home and he was still there so i played with a string to get him out and i picked him up and he peed all over me and went under the bed again. I then grabbed him and cuddled him and kissed him over and over again and when i let him go he went for the bed again. Its been 5 hrs now and he wont come out!!
Help anyone Please please!

I'd take him to the vet. Sounds like he might be really not feeling good.

Has anything else changed in the house? New pets? New people?

Thank you very very much for reading..
Nothing has changed at all.. I called the vet they told me there is a long wait and to come in the moring. They dont think its serious. He has never ever been like this.. He wont even eat his treats or drink his cat milk..

There must have been something that happened to stimulate his defensive responses. Could he have seen another strange cat outside the window?

Something scared him - even seeing himself in a mirror might have triggered the response - cats are weird at times

Something similar happened w/ Munchie.
He used to have a toy we call "The Shrimp" (it was shrimpy thing on a string stuck on a suction cup to a glass door). One day he became completely spooked by The Shrimp. I mean, he'd walk a wide circle just to keep his distance if he saw The Shrimp laying on the floor. A few days later, we tried to play w/ him w/ The Shrimp, and he ran! Or if we dropped the shrimp near him, he'd get all defensive and back-up or sprint away!

And then of course, a few weeks pass, and guess who's playing w/ The Shrimp all by himself!

Sometimes he'd get spooked by loud noises outside or from upstairs (we live in apt bldg) & he'd go hide under the bed. He growls, too, sometimes if a doorbell rings when he's feeling really cozy.

I think it's probably a goofy cat thing like the others said. Still, if you can, maybe a vet checkup to be safe. Good Luck!
