First I want to say thank you to all of you who have been so helpful when I first got Javier and was a novice kitty mommy. And for when we got Sophie, our new little orange kitty. You are all such kind cat parents, and so supportive! What a great website. Now maybe I can answer a few posts as well. I felt like I didn't have anything to contribute because I was so new at this. But maybe after 6 months of cat ownership I will.
Here is something interesting. Javier is Mister Clean. He spends hours cleaning himself, between his toes, every inch of his face and body. Sophie is not so clean. She starts to clean herself and loses interest after a few seconds. She doesn't seem to understand how to bury her cat poop either. She will spend 5 minutes scratching the sides of the cat box, trying to bury it. (I have the largest size I could get.) She seems so puzzled why it is still on top of the litter after all of her efforts. Sometimes, Javier will jump in and bury it for her. I think he can't stand her habits. And he tries to wash her butt too, but she gets freaked out. Not that I blame her. He's still such a lunatic. One moment kisses, the next hard bites. But they are getting along a lot better! Yay. Especially since they can play safely in the back yard. They run around like maniacs together chasing flies, and staring at birds. It is so much fun to watch them out there. And she has lots more room to get away from him. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks.
