I hope you miscalculated! If its only 57 days and she has milk now, then those kittens are over a week early to be born - you might have a lot of problems.

Normal gestation is 63-68 days for healthy kittens.

Of course, if she was mated by more then one male, it could be different "ages" on the kittens development. The "youngest" kittens may not survive.

Usually on my queens, if you could express a drop or so of milk from the nipples, they would deliver within 48 hours

Spoke to the vets this morning an explain whats happening with her , they think i may have the dates wrong by a week and that some cats hormones start producing milk earlier than some. so they said it will probley happen soon.they said as long as babies are moving ,all is good. so any time soon thanks for your help.

Hi, no milk as yet with my girl. But the line of British Shorthairs she is from, the girls apparently have never given birth before 66 days, so tend to go a bit longer. So if she is going to follow suit she may have quite a few days still anyway. Not that you can really predict!

How did you work out the date? Did u actually witness the mating? If not its possible that shes a bit further along maybe? Any signs of labour yet?

Hope its all going well!!!

How did you

She got out of the house a couple of time during one week while she was on heat (so hard to keep them in when males are roamin the streets ) so no i didnt actually see them. But the last time she got out ,she came of heat so worked it out on that really.Thought that she would only stop heat when she conceaved(sorry cant spell)we will see when she delivers. so really she could be 65 days if thats the case!!No, no signs of labout yet she does seem quite though, do they normally do that?

I don't think they always come out of heat as soon as they mate, as can mate more than once in a heat. So you could be a couple of days out maybe? My queen is quiet yes, but more as shes so heavy - just wants to rest. Cats can become more distant or more clingy depending, so its hard to say. Look out for signs of restlessness, mucous etc. Phone vet again if you are unsure at any point!
