I honestly, for real and for true, do not think that the President has the finesse to entertain Royalty. I'm not trying to be mean, or "anti-bush", I just think that in light of all the blustering snafus he's made, that he just don't have it together enough for a white tie affair.

Give it a rest - President Bush has met/dined with the Queen before (stated in the article BTW) and is from a social strata that is well-versed in formal etiquette.

How many members, on THIS site could acquit themselves well, at a State Dinner? Just remembering which fork to use, with each course can be a bit daunting.

Actually, having been through Marine Security Battalion training, formal dining and etiquette are required training. Plus, President Bush has also been filmed and taped at a formal dinner talking with his mouth full BTW.

Eh...I personally would worry about other things.

The worse that could happen is that the Queen and Bush get into a food fight...

But I want to worry about it.. I'm on the last day of my vacation, everything that I took time off to work on is finished, the cats are all asleep, and I'm just looking for something to yak about that (hopefully) won't start any fights

LOL I was never sure that he didn't have the finesse, I was just a tad concerned that he didn't....but the Prince looks like a tough act to follow

Ok, I admit it.... our boy the President did a pretty good job. The one time he had a slip of the tongue (saying 1776 instead of 1976), he recovered nicely, and the Queen played along to make it a rather funny moment.

....and, he pulled off the white tie rather smartly too.
