I have a batch of homemade "Lazy Gourmet" brownies in the oven.
I was asked to bake a variety of yummies on friday at work, as one of my charges had a bake sale on saturday (I'm a nanny). Her mom asked for at least 2 different things, so I called my mom and asked for this recipe. I remember her making it when I was little and they're so good. Anyway, I copied it then emailed myself, but couldn't get the email to open at work. So, I ended up doing 4 dozen cupcakes (chocolate and vanilla) and 3 dozen chocolate chip cookies instead.

But I just couldn't get the thought of brownies out of my head, so tonight I whipped up a batch. They smell incredible and they didn't take long to throw together. I could post the recipe, if anyone is interested.

Only 10 minutes till they can come out of the oven.....but then I'll have to wait for them to cool!!!!

Oh yes!

Please post the recipe. I haven't made brownies in awhile and anything with "Lazy Gourmet" sounds like it's right up my alley!

Ok, here it is! As I said, this is a recipe from one of my mother's cookbooks.....

Lazy Gourmet Brownies

1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup cocoa
3 eggs
1 cup all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Preheat oven to 350.
Melt butter over medium heat in a medium saucepan.
Turn heat off.
Add sugars and cocoa, stirring constantly.
Add eggs, one at a time, stirring well.
Sift flour and baking powder together. (I didn't do that
)
Add all at once to chocolate mixture.
Add vanilla and walnuts. Mix well.
Pour mixture into buttered 9X13 pan.
Bake 30 min or until firm.

Dust lightly with powdered sugar or frost with your favourite chocolate icing!

I'll let you know how they turn out. Right now they're too warm to put on the icing, so I'm waiting. I don't know how long I'll be able to hold out, though.....

Well it's hard to resist the smell of fresh, warm brownies. Can't blame you if you cave and give into temptation.
