The video and images on the news were some of the worst tornado footages I've ever seen. My prayers are with them.

These pictures remind me of when I was 13 years old, when the town of Xenia Ohio, was hit by an F-5 tornado that also wiped out 90% of that town. That was in 1974. Yes, the town did rebuild and they put up a monument to all the people who lost their lives that day. My prayers go out to all these people, may God keep them safe

Still in a tornado watch out here. It's a nice peaceful, if a tad bit windy, night. Most of us are so used to the tornado watches that we don't pay them much mind, if it upgrades to a warning then we get nervous.
It looks like there'll be chances of rain here and warm weather for a few more days yet, always a possibility for more severe weather

This year seems unusually full of bad tornadoes - Holly, CO got hit hard and the Greensburg, KS was basically wiped away by one. I hope it doesn't continue this way through the summer.

I found this page which explains the intensity scales used to describe tornadoes - Holly was an F4 and Greensboro was probably F5. http://www.spc.noaa.gov/efscale/

Nope - I'm about 4 hours away from Greensburg and am on the fringe of the storm that is still going on over here. A minute ago it started to hail (dime sized and the cats all left their window perches in a hurry) and now its pouring rain. We are on flood warnings thru at least tomorrow. The local weather channel has the heaviest rains happening across Oklahoma and Kansas, with Stillwater OK and Greensburg KS in the thick of the heaviest rain. Talk about adding insult to injury. It actually looks like rain all week here. On the fringe we're supposed to get a couple inches of rain.

I'm reaching out to some local rescue groups to see if they are doing anything about rehoming pets from the impacted areas. I'll let you know if I hear of anything we can do to help.

I think I'm going to practice tornado drills with the critters today. Herding 13 animals into the basement is going to be an interesting challenge.

Sending hugs and prayers from Mississippi for everyone involved, I do hope that everyone is safe, and I do wish that we could hear from them.

I don't mind a storm every now and then, but it's been like this over here for days! I miss the sun..

East central Kansas here. The rain let up a little so we went for a walk around the lake out back our house. It's way over it's banks and the feeder creeks are overflowing (one of them is on the edge of our property). The creek is usually dry but right now we have a few waterfalls. If we weren't on a hill, we'd probably be under water by now.

My neighbor is with the state police and we just saw him outside in uniform (he's on the other side of the creek). He doesn't normally work on Sunday but everyone is pulling double duty right now with the tragedy in Greensburg. I asked him if there was anything we could do and he just said "pray".
