faster then DSL, provided that you're not on a busy line during peak hours and that your cable provider doesn't have you capped below the amount of bandwidth that you're actually paying for.
Our cable provider is awful, they've given us a bad modem before and denied that it could be the problem. The connection cuts off for hours on end, it cuts off anytime they mess with the switch box down the road, and probably anytime anyone sneezes near the darn cable itself.
I'm not even going to start on how incompetent the people at the town office and tech support are...
DSL isn't an option as we're too far outside of town.
