One of the kittens whom is about a week old has a swollen eye.. His eye is still closed but he has gunk coming from the sides.. I'm not sure if the others scratched him or if it's on it's own, but what can i do to help the swelling go down?

a vet vist will be in order , untill you can get to a vet , with some warm boiled water take a q tip and gently , very gently wipe the eye untill the gunk has gone , i would only wipe once with every side of the q tip so as not to spread the infection.
hope he gets better soon.

Depending on the year
This is good advice, because there may be an infection setting in. If you have an animal antibiotic eye ointment you may want to rub that in the eye after all of the gunk is out.

Good Luck,
Amy

even a scratch can get infected , see how it goes. if it gunks up again i would see a vet, about the antibiotic eye cream i would not use this , you could do more harm then good.

I agree with Tasha. Please don't use human medication on animals (especially newborn kittens!) unless advised to by a vet. Not only could it be the wrong medication, but it will probably be much, much to strong.
