Poor 3 yr Old Girl taken - Page 3

Just read that police is searching nearby villa. As for the parents, I think living three little kids alone was not a smart thing to do.
But that is neither her nor there.

This is so sad for everyone involved and I think the parents will punish themselves for the rest of their lives....I dont think they will need anyone to do that for them.

They made a mistake......a mistake that has cost them dearly. I hope a few people listen and learn from this.

I was watching the news last night and 2 men were on there talking. According to them there were no signs of a forced entry into the property and the patio doors had been left unlocked as this is how the parets were checking on the children. Why has this not been made public knowledge and not as it seems been pushed under the carpet!

What has really made me think though is how this would have been discussed in the press had the parents been of a lesser status or less wealthy. Would it have been a case of uncaring neglectful parents more interested in going out than taking care of the children. Had it been a low income single parent living on a council estate Im sure the finger of judgement would have been pointed towards them so much more. Is it that as they have been painted as wealthy, caring professional people that we must sympathise with them more. And would this have gotten so much press coverage? Its such a shame as sad as it is that little maddy is one of many children who go missing and suffer abuse at the hands of their parents its just we dont hear about them all.

I do feel for the parents. No parent should have to go through what they are going through now but mostly i feel for maddy. I pray this little girl is safe where ever she is but after nearly 2 weeks missing im afraid i fear the worst for her.

sorry if this made no sence......it just makes me so sad and it all kinda came out a bit of a jumble

That's a really good post and I am starting to agree that the parents do deserve some sympathy they must be in utter anguish I can't even imagine.

Mum told me that there was plenty of evidence that the room had been broken into - at least, that's what the news is in Portugal and they were just there last week.

If there were no signs of a break-in after all it looks a lot worse, doesn't it?

Police now have some sort of a suspect. But as the guy have not even been arrested, it's likely they only have suspicions and not much else.

Yes I read that..but also read that at present they don't have enough evidence against the guy. Apparently this suspect has been talking to the media all week prior to his arrest and also 'helping' the family as a translator. I know its a matter of innocent until proven guilty, but for those UK'ers or people with knowledge of the Holly & Jessica case in the UK...he reminds me of Ian Huntley...seeking media attention, intervention in the investigation and appearing as desperate to help....striking resemblances to that case, eh? (in terms of his behaviour)

I think that's all they got-no evidence, just attention seeking behavior. Could be just a guy looking for attention and nothing else.

Mel thats exactly what I thought when watching the news last night. It reminded me so much of seeing Ian Huntly "help" the press and police.

I hope to god its not true but his behaviour has set off alarm bells for a reason.

It seems that although they have anough evidence to suspect this man, Robert Murat they do not have enough evidence to arrest him.

For anyone who isnt from the uk and familiar with the case of Holly Wells & Jessica Chapmen here is a link

http://www.crimelibrary.com/serial_k...ley/index.html

I dont think there is anyone in the UK that doesnt know about this story and how heart breaking it was. He was one sick man!! He also had one very sick girlfriend too!

There are similarities between the behaviours of both men. This by no means proves any guilt on the part of Robert Murat but it does start a few alarm bells ringing!
