First bath...

Hello I´m kind of new here, I have a Smoke persian baby boy that is almost 3 months (on the 23). When is it ok to give him his first bath?? His fur is not matted at all, since i brush him almost everyday, but i want to get him used to baths. And another thing, he has long bits of fur on the bottom side of his paws, should that be cut, or is it something that doesn´t really matter. Sometimes he gets small matts there, cause it´s hard to get at with the brush. Thanx for any comments.

Actually with a persian, most want to give them a bath on a regular basis. If he's going to get a bath often, the best thing to do is start bathing now, and give him a bath every two weeks for a few months. This way, when he's older he won't mind. As far as clipping the hair, it's a personal thing. The tufts of hair in the paws is very cute, but if they create a problem, you can keep them trimed. Heck, alot of Persian breeders keep thier cats shaved most of the time
