Shane West who plays Ray on ER has signed on to a pilot for a new series on FOX.
I'm assuming that the ending of this episode of ER where he goes "missing", and his possible return or death is riding on the success of the pilot series.
If the pilot is a success and the series picked up, then I'm assuming he will be found dead on ER and written out.

I missed it last night! How awful...I'm glad i heard it this way, lol! I hate crying over TV shows, but that would definitely have the waterworks workin'!!!

Can someone fill me in ...I think I missed the episode when they explained exactly why the ER was closing, and for how long, etc. In the scene last night when Ray goes into the ER with the flashlight, it looked like a long-term closure

The hospital is not happy with how the ER is running so they are closing it for a while..not for good though. Its not a huge deal or anything..Prolly just did in the script so everyone would be able to go to the wedding.

I heard from somewhere that Ray will be "seen" by Neela (we'll just see someone who could possibly be him) which will keep the character active, just in case.

Yeah, the ER is closed, so none of the doctors would know anything. This is horrible! I really had high hopes for a storyline there....
OK, reading this I just realized I missed the end of the show because Jordan was using the litter box (the Megacolon, has made me a Mega annoying mom, every time the poor thing gets in the box I'm right there watching). The last thing I saw was the fight at the wedding, what did I miss???

Pratt made Ray leave the wedding..then Neela went to call Ray after a long talk with Gates ending it..Ray went to pick up the cell phone and dropped it in the street..bent over to pick it up , and a big huge truck came and hit him!!
