Two months! That's nothing compared to our so-wonderful British government. Here's their time off schedule:

3 weeks at Christmas
2 weeks in February
2 and a half weeks at Easter
1 and a half weeks at Whitsun
3 and a half months over summer.

It's amazing that they ever get anything done really.

LOL thats incredible, I wasn't aware of that.

But, the gist of the story is, neither the US Congress or the British Government are supposed to be in the middle of forging a new government. After the American Revolution and the English Civil war, there was no rest for members of government, they worked until they had something that worked. They didn't wander off into the hills to get drunk, plant flowers and play football.

I know! Fancy people who work for a living actually getting to take any time off! It's criminal!

After all, people in positions of responsibility should work 20 hours a day, 364 days a year. They get four hours off a day to sleep and eat and one day off a year to actually have a life outside of what they do.

It would be more than they deserve, actually.
