New from Dallas

Thread Starter
Good Morning,

I am a graduate student in Dallas. I just got my first kitty yesterday. I thought we were doing well until this morning. My kitty, Maverick, is a black/gray and light brown tabby. We woke up at a modest 5:00 am , and he is completely terrified of me. The good thing is that I have him a place to sleep and he is eating, so that is good. Just looking to get some help with him. I want to make sure he is loved and knows I won't ever hurt him. I think he is mourning being removed from his mother, he is meowing a lot this morning and looking around.

Thanks for any help in the future,

JGB

Hello fellow North Texan and welcome to you and your new kitty to TCS. Give him some time to get adjusted to his new environment and his new parent, he will come around. Just continue to give him much love to let him know that he is safe. Congratulations on your new kitty.

hello, welcome. just be patient with him, and the longer he was with your mother and the older he is usually makes it even harder for him to adjust. just pour lots of love on him and he will come around.
