Did I spell it right? My cat has yellow stuff coming out of his eye...I called the vet and she said it could be conjunctivitis. He's also sneexing. What is that and what do you do about it? I'm going to the vet this afternoon. Just wanted a little more info.

The vet will probably give you a antibiotic like omoxycillin to give the cat orally and then a tube of medicine to put in the cats eye. I believe conjunctivitus is pink eye. If the cat is sneezing then a cold may be brewing.

You will get the same meds that Jason mentioned. Please be sure to use ALL the medicine. Even if the symptoms are gone there are still "germs" that haven't quite been killed. If you stop the medicine too soon these "germs" will become resistant to the medication and your kitty could become reinfected and have to use harsher medication to fix it. I know the kitty will be fine but post us back and let us know OK? OH, and Pictures please

You're right. The vet gave me ointment to put in his eyes and omoxycilin to give to him to fight the bacteria. He said the sneezing is due to the eyes running and dripping through his sinuses...or nose. He also gave me what he described as the worst tasting medicine a cat will ever have to take...for his runny stools. So I am having a lot of fun giving my poor cat 3 medicines. But, his eyes are looking better.
