My dad got a cell phone. My sister, BIL, and him have a family plan, I already have a cell phone, but my he hates phones but we talked him into getting one incase he's out and has an emergency. But then he forgets to carry it with him when he leaves
He has my niece's picture as his screensaver. I simply can't believe this.

I can't believe half the people I see out with a cell now.And ALOT of them are older and chat while driving too.

Sounds like my mom.

I made my sister mad at me last year. Mom's old cell phone didn't work anymore. My dad passed away 2.5 years ago. My mom's car has 90,000 miles on it. Mind you, she doesn't drive very far (only around the town she lives in) but still, if it broke down somewhere she'd be in trouble. She lives by herself and she needs a cell phone. Even if she only uses the thing for emergencies (and she does, never uses it) My sister, who lives 10 MINUTES away said for 6 months that her and her husband would do something about her broken phone.

She came here for a visit. I got tired of hearing her complain about her not working phone (and worrying about her too) that I told dh. He called the guy who set up our cell plan. He had her on our plan and with a new phone in less than 24 hours.
My sister was MAD. Said that she was going to do something about it. Ok- they had 6 MONTHS to do something about it and they did NOTHING.

Funny thing is, she's had it for almost a year. She still doesn't know how to check messages on it. It took her a month to realize that she needs to charge it up once in a while. She goes out, and forgets to turn it on
. She has gotten better with it, though she still worries about going over on our minutes. We have a 500 minute plan, and we have yet to use up the whole 500 minutes each month.

Now when we add the kids in a couple of years, that may change

But then if they go over, guess who's paying the bill? You guessed it, they are!

My mom doesn't really know how to use her cell phone either. She can make calls but forget about checking voicemail or even changing her ring tone volume. She says it is all beyond her. She is only 58 this year. Same with the computer. She won't learn much beyond how to operate the few games she likes.

My parents had one years and years ago-when they were really big!! I've thought about it again Ican add to my plan-my dad takes long rides on his bicycle (scavaging metal) and it would be nice but he would use it (hmmm maybe a GPS locater would be better!!)
