Good morning, everyone. I have a problem with my cat. (I think). She is 8 years old and lately she's had a really wet nose (I don't see any discharge), she's drooling, and she kind of smells funny. I know it sounds stupid, but I don't know if these are warning signs of some kind...? Anyone have any thoughts on this? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!!!

Welcome to the site. There are a lot of really nice, knowledgeable people here who have helped me tremendously with several issues.

I'm no expert and I don't know what those symptoms might be, but if it were my cat, I would take her to the vet to be sure it wasn't something serious. Good luck, and keep us posted.

Hi Breenie and welcome to TCS.

What you describe with your cat sounds quite serious and I would recommend you take her to the vet ASAP. Drooling is a symptoms of many different illnesses including gingivitis (inflamed gums), nausea or a mouth or tongue injury. The weird smell would tie in with something going on in her mouth.

Hi - Welcome to the Board. I would take her to the vet to be on the safe side. The drooling and funny smell may indicate there is something wrong. Please take her. Keep us posted.

Hi

Sounds like a gingivitis/peridontal issues. Drooling and halitosis are key symptoms. She is at the age where teeth can become an issue. Usually you notice the mouth odor for a while before the drooling.

Could be other things too--in any case, this is a VETERINARY situation so please please have her seen
Eating could be difficult at best for her as well
