I work nights, and every morning when I come home I feed the squirrels and birds in my backyard. This morning there was a tiny fawn up on the hill behind my house. It was kind of scared when it saw me, and at first the mama wasn't around, but she came back a few minutes later. We have a five foot wooden fence around the whole yard, so I am wondering if the baby was born up on the hill in the bushes?

We get deer visitors pretty often because of the fruit trees, but this is the first time we have had a baby back there. I want to pet it! But I will keep my distance 'cuz it needs to be as wild as possible.

I took some pictures from a distance, but need to transfer them from the camera to the computer. I will try and post them tomorrow morning.

Oh my - they are soooo beautiful. I can only imagine how excited you must have been. My daughter and I were driving home one evening last spring and a mom and her twins were in a field just off the roadway. I can't wait to see your pictures.

That is so cool! We had a big highway project go through here about a half mile up the road, and it has driven all the wildlife into a small patch of woods behind my house. We have had a family of deer coming around, and it looks like 2 of them are pregnant. There is 1 big male. but he is kind of scary. I was sneaking around the side of the house trying to get pics, and he turned and looked like he was going to chase me away. I watch them from the windows now.

AWWWWWWWWWW I think its a little doe rather then a buck. I remember reading a real deer story long time ago - had picture of the bucks/does and fawns and remember the head shape of does compared to bucks. Looks like a doe to me
