I was thining I'd love eventually to add space to my house to turn it into a kitty hotel. something well lighted, with hardwoods. kitty condos. Shelving it under future plans for now.
Have any of you done that?

My bf got lucky and bought his house when he was 20 and its freakin huge!! We have 3 rooms upstairs, 1 on the first floor and a 3 room basement. We have gradually been fixing the house up, mostly cuz I feel that white is just the start of coloring kinda like vanilla isnt a flavor...LOL...We actually turned part of our dining room into a kitty-paluza arena....But this happened when we had nine cats in the house. We ended up taking in two females that were pregnant and we didnt know it. Now we are looking into turning part of the basement into the dogs little arena and taking the spare room upstairs and making it a kitty play area while still being able to keep my bed and stuff in there. I think your idea is AWESOME!!! And it probably wouldnt be that expensive if you had a room all ready to just be put to use. I say go for it...Id send my boys down for a weekend vaca in your kitty hotel!!!

What a great idea! One reason I could never bear to board my kitties at kennels is that they don't have anyone on the premises at night in case of a fire. But since your kitty hotel would be part of your home, I'd feel much better about it! Brilliant plan!

Over the river and through the woods...
I found a website for a cat rescue that actually built their play area around this huge tree. It had a glass ceiling so the tree could still get sunlight and they must have had 40 cats in and around that tree! Does anyone know the name of that rescue?

Anyway, I think that is a little more that what you are talking about
But, your idea sounds great! We're going to screen in part of our deck for the kitty's but they will only be able to use it in summer. I wish I had the room for something like that all year round.

Are you going to board cats, or is it just for you babies?

Wow! A cat Bed and Breakfast? You just may have something big here. Every time I go to the vet I see cats stuffed into cages that people have left for boarding. OK, you have the idea. Now come up with a catchy name. I really think the term "Bed & Breakfast" for cats would be a good starting point.
