Custom avatar too small

I just tried to upload a custom avatar and tried with a couple different ones...every one I tried to use kept shrinking to a little tiny thing that you can barely tell what it is...I know that they can't be too big but the ones I tried to use weren't big at all. Do they really have to be tiny to be able to use them?

Yes they need to be less than 50x50px in size and below a certain file size (it will tell yo what it is on the upload page)

If you need help resizing it let me know

If you become a paying member, then you can use a bigger avatar.
