Aww, thanks hon! Kitty was yowling at me when I woke up. I know they`re supposed to sense these things but I`m sure he just wondered why his breakfast was late!

Under the cats, mostly.
Just thought I'd put your mind at ease - Tremors actually happen all over the world pretty much constantly. It's just rare that we feel them. And seeing as it's the UK and far away from any fault lines, it'll have been a fairly small tremor. Nothing to worry about.
Good to know that your china is at least still in one piece. Stay safe!

I've lived through a few earthquakes, the strongest one was a 6.4 on richter. It's a bit scary, especially when it was that big one and you had lots of after shock quakes.

It really depends on how well built the houses are where you are then though. England is overall not built well for earthquakes (no need really since it's not on a faultline) so I was really surprised to hear about that quake.

Oh heck, I did see that on Sky news, they had all sorts of people ringing in with their 'eye witness' accounts, they were saying lots of people were out in the streets, they could see cracks in walls and some chimneys had even toppled over

So you must have really been fast asleep then eh
glad you and the kits are OK

I knew I should have paid more attention in geography at school

But yep, the china is safe!

Ann, I slept through the hurricane we had in`87?

All I remember was waking up and hearing the catflap banging away like crazy and went back to sleep!

I`d hate to live somewhere where they had big ones

I've been through my share of Earthquakes, and I can tell you, I don't think anyone gets used to them. I know everytime I feel one, my heart stops in my throat for a second. Not all of them are big or scarey, but you never know if that one small tremor is going to intensify into something really big and scarey.

Yes, we Brits have always been good at predicting weather patterns.... remember Michael Fish?

"No madam, there is not a hurricane on the way, you are quite safe"

I'm glad I was further north, but I remember the wind being really strong even in Scotland and being awake all night watching it.
