OK it's 9:18 am here...and the doorbell just rang. I actually slept in this morning so I'm still in my PJs. NO WAY will I answer the door in my PJs.

Even if I'm not though...if I"m home alone and not expecting anyone, depending on my mood I may not answer the door.

Do you answer you're door everytime or no?

i got a few windows by the door to look out of tho so I always check before I answer the door, but even when I order food I often answer the door in my pj's!

Nope - never answer it if I'm not dressed. And if I'm busy and not expecting anyone, I peek out the window! If it's someone I know, I will, otherwise it's just someone trying to sell something and I don't bother.

I always answer it, usually pick up Nikita and use her as a barrier so to speak at the door. I.e if it's someone I don't want to spend time talking to they usually take the hint when she starts squirming wanting to go down.

I sometimes answer the door. I usually don't if I'm not expecting someone, or if I don't know who it is. I will answer if it's UPS or a delivery. If I'm in my pj's, I usually don't either.

That all depends. I have very bad "bed head" when I wake up
And normally not wearing a bra. All though the other day a kid came out to borrow something from hubby and I was 1/2 asleep and answered the door...lol.

I only answer the door if I know who it is, otherwise if hubby is home I get him to answer it.

I do not answer the door to strangers.
UPS guy leaves packages on my back patio, he doesn't even bother knocking anymore.
The mailman I'll answer as I know him (sweet old gentleman).
Otherwise, nope, same goes for the phone.

Depends- we have a peep hole in our door (apartment building) so if its someone I don't know, then nope, I don't answer. But usually if I'm in my PJs or lounging and its just a friend or John's cousin (who lives a floor above us) I'll answer, he's used to seeing me like that

I always answer it. If someone I know is gonna show up without warning, they can deal with my pajamas, and if it is a package or whatever I do NOT want them to leave it outside.

Heck, I've answered the door in a towel! Got used to it in the dorms with a coed floor, all kinds of strangers saw me in all kinds of disarray. Although there was one girl who would walk around in lingerie plllh! I never did that!

I do look outside first, in case it's a land shark.

They have to buzz the front door of the building, and I have an intercom system, so I can see who it is. Usually, they just need to leave a package in the vestibule or something. Or they're bringing me food.

Julie, I also lived in a coed dorm....actually, all of our dorms are coed (which is kind of hilarious considering that I go to a Catholic-run school). And yes, they have that sort of de-sensitizing effect on people. Not only do people see you in disarray, but you see all kind of people walking around in disarray!

oo I have a real problem with this
I do not like my space invading ..especially when I am alone

Luckily I can see from my house who is at the gate - in Spain it is illegal to enter someones garden without permission, so all door bells are actually on the gate/wall etc....which is great for me, I can see my gate from my house and if its someone I don't want to talk to I wont go..if it its then fine

Oh, how do we get a law that that passed in the US??? I like that!

I live on the end of a dirt road, so if someone pulls up I can usually see who it is before they get out of the car, then decide after that. If I don't hear a car I know it is either my MIL, BIL or neice/nephew. But, usally with them I don't have to worry about answering...they knock and walk right on in!

No, nor do I answer the phone. It's a sales person every time!

The only way I would answer the door is if I am actually expecting someone. I am notorious for not answering the door or the phone for that matter when I am at home. I don't like unexpected guests, and I have an answering machine to pick up the phone. If they leave a message I will get back to them.
I also have a pager, for work that I will Always respond to, and most of my immediate family have that number also so if there is an emergency they can contact me 24/7.

Depends really. Everyone important has my mobile number so will text if there`s no answer or they shout through the catflap.
I`ve found myself creeping around my own flat and hiding behind the sofa when people come round that I don`t want to see before

Oh, and if an unknown number comes up on my mobile I either get someone else to answer it or stuff it under a cushion. Even when It`s someone I know I get all anxious.

No- i rarely ever answer the door unless it's for someone that i KNOW. It might sound weird- but i get really scared when someone i don't know is at the door (mainly men - sometimes salesmen or just strangers) i will not answer the door. I always check the peep hole too. I will NOT answer it for someone i do not know- it's just not safe in my opinion around here. There's been one too many instances of people pretending to work for companies/etc....then when people open the door they barge in and harm them- i'm just to skiddish to chance it. That's about the only thing i'm really weird about - it just scares me. If Colin's here- i get him and he answers it...but if not- the person can just wait and try again when he's home because i will not let a stranger in my home/etc.

My husband likes to see what people want but I will never answer it as I don't care what they want. In today's society I think people coming up to the homes of others could easily take advantage of them, like I see on the news or CourtTV, I just plain don't feel safe unless I know the person.

I love the chance to sleep in and get annoyed when random strangers to try ruin it. lol. Unless we are talking kids (not teenagers) or people I know pretty well I don't care to open the door.

It depends on who it is.... If it's the mailman or something, I'll answer even in my jammies, so long as they are decent. Half the time it's some neighborhood kid wanting to mow the lawn so I don't! I always look before deciding though!
