Last weekend a local animal advocates group was holding a microchip clinic. They charged $20 per cat (much less than my vet wanted to charge), so I decided to bring everyone! Emily had a little bleeding afterward, but they were all fine!

Even though the animal advocates group keeps all of our microchip and contact information, we also decided to pay $50 (the price for multiple cats) to Avid (the microchip company) so that they would keep our contact information as well.

I feel a lot safer now! Since they are indoor-only, I took off their collars and will probably only put them back on when we go out of town. Now their fur is matted down where their collars used to be. I tried to brush it out but it didn't work. Will that fix itself?

did you get it done at March of the Animals last Sunday? They had a chipping booth set up.

I got Smidge chipped last weekend too. It was $38 for the procedure but the lifetime registration with ResQ is free, and can be updated anytime online.

It's great a group held a chipping event. I told many ppl about getting Smidge chipped and they had never heard of such a thing (and they have pets). One guy thought that meant I had a "remote control" kitty now

Nope the group was actually called Animal Advocates of Howard County. I told my parents that they should have their cat microchipped too and they didn't know what I was talking about either.

She's doing great! Thanks for asking.
However, I think she still has some kitten in her because she is sooo active. This past week we've experienced the 5am crazies every morning. I can't wait to catch up on sleep this weekend.

Emily is keeping her distance from her
but Mia and Chessy get along very well...they are always smelling each other and running around together. No cuddling together though, I hope that comes next!

That's fantastic!!! It's great for peace of mind huh?

And I'm sure the fur will go back to normal eventually... It really gets pushed down though huh??
