And if what she says is accurate I will not be getting one. She said the mother is full blooded Bobcat and that she got her last year from some woman locally. And the father is Siamese. I am still trying to get a picture to see if this is really the case or if they are Manx mixed. Its illegal in the state of Ga to even own a Bobcat. So if they are bobcat mix I can not get one.

Im trying to figure out how easy it would be for a bobcat and a siamese to mate. Sounds to me that maybe it might just be a manx. But I could be wrong.

Thats what I think. I have been trying to get a picture to see but so far nothing. She swears though that the mom is a full bobcat. She is also trying to find a home for the mom. I talked to a friend of mine. She said you have to have a special lisence to own a bobcat but not for the kittens.

you should "pretend" your friend is interested in the mom and ask for a picture. If she is obviously not a bobcat, then you can get the kitten. But if this is the case of an intentional breeding and she is claiming the mom to be a bobcat, I would stear clear of this "breeder".

I would think the likelihood of a domestic cat mating with a bobcat is highly unlikely. I think the bobcat would be more inclined to fight or kill the domestic cat... seeing it is prey.

Most times they would kill the domestic cat - but sometimes you do get ones that actually mate with each other

Well I don't think she is a breeder per say as in intentional. But than again I could be wrong. She said she has had the momma for a year. Said she was a baby kit that she got from a friend that breeds them. Also she is not trying to sale them she is just trying to find homes for the babies because she now has to many pets.

I asked her from the beginning if they could be Manx mixed. Because to may knowledge they are the only tailless or bobbed domestic that I know of. And that could she send me pictures of the mom and babies before I decide if I want one or not. Once again she said no the mom was 100% bobcat. At this point I emailed her back and said that if they are part bobcat (meaning if the mom was bobcat truely) I could not get one. And that if she has or could get a picture of the mom and babies than I could make a decision whether or not to get one.

So far I get the feeling I may not hear back. But if I do and I get pictures I will update.

Depending on the year
In the breeding community we have cats called American Bobtails. They are purebred and have stubby little tails.

Kind Regards,
Amy
