Wesley did the cutest thing yesterday to get my attention. I was sitting here at the computer and he came up and tapped me twice on the arm with his paw and did the cutest meow. I got up and he ran to the door to go out! It was the cutest way to get my attention!! Usually when he wants something he is a little more annoying. He will jump on me and off me and on me and so on. Or if I am sleeping, he will jump on the headboard of the bed and jump onto my stomache!! Ahhhhh!!! I like the polite way of getting my attention better!

Yells in my face, sits on my shoulder. Bats my hair. Tries to sit on my head. Meows some more. Gets in front of whatever I am doing...
She has me trained...

Nyx is a very talkative cat so she usually just meows at us... a lot... But I swear that cat can make the saddest sounding meows ever ;_; (and knows when to use them too!!)

Herc and Bubba are both cry-babies. Over everything!!! Since I will ignore Herc if he gets too obnoxious with his crying (he does it just for scratches) he will jump on me and bat at my cheek. As if trying to say uhhh duhhh mom...Need a lil sumthing down here!!!

Chynna sits and taps me on the leg, or will reach out with her paw and curl her toes around my finger and pull my hand towards her. If that doesn't work, she starts to meow while tapping me on the leg. When she wants her littler box cleaned she will sit in the hall by my desk looking back and forth at me and the bathroom. When she wants something to eat she will make a mad dash to the kitchen and stop along the way to make sure I'm following her.

Abby has a pair of rolled up socks that she claimed as her own when she was 4 months old. She's now almost 9 years old. She will go and get the socks no matter where they are and carry them to the room where I am while meowing. I can always tell when she is arriving with her socks because of the tone of her meow. She's not bringing me a gift, it's more of her way of announcing herself. Another thing she's taken to doing is laying on my desk and reaching her paw out and touching my hand gently. That usually yields her some tummy rubs
She also jumps up on me when I'm sitting at my desk or on the couch...that's a sure way to grab my attention, hehe

Our domestics will just cry and get louder if you ignore them. However, if Amber wants my attention and I continue to ignore her, she will pee on me

Neely will do just about anything to get our attention.
She will take her paw and grab our leg if we are walking by or leaving the room, she will jump on the table if we are sitting down and give us a head butt, she will jump on the vanity if we are brushing our teeth, she will follow us to bed and proceed to attack our feet under the covers, she will throw herself against the door at night because she wants to play, and the list goes on and on.

That's exactly what Molly does to me but for treats. The tap tap is so cute. Lucky usually jumps on me without warning. Benson is learning that meowing gets more attention then climbing furniture that he shouldn't be on.

Shami choses a spot out in the corner of my eye, rolls over and displays his tummy to me and then gives a slight croon or mew if I'm not looking at him.

If I ignore him long enough, he'll come over and sit by my desk, or someplace where he can look at me eye level, scrutinize me for a bit, and then try to smack me upside the head.

If I continue to ignore him, he goes into facehugger mode.

Beavis walks thru the house screaming at the top of his lungs when no one is paying attention to him and the kids are in bed. When visitors are over, he usually licks them until I warn the visitors if they dont pet him now, he will bite them hard ( he always draws blood-- kinda vicious but hes been like that for going on 18 1/2 years since my in laws declawed him when he was 6 mo old)
When he thinks its time for ME to go to bed, he follows me around and meows and stares at me with half closed eyes.

PB he just tries to trip you up by weaving thru your legs or laying down in front of you and hollers at ya. Sometimes when im at mycomputer, he will jump up in front of me so i cant see the screen.

Sheeba is my worst about getting her attention. She keeps herself busy during the day investigating everything, I mean everything...At night while I am sleeping is when she wants her attention, so she starts licking my earlobe and then proceeds to sit on my face when I am asleep...but not for long..I wake up with the backside of her in my face. YIKES!! I am surprised that I haven't had any nightmares about this. My other kitties will meow and rub my hand and such for their attention at normal hours..

Under the cats, mostly.
My cats do anything and everything from miaowing long and loud at 5.30am, to pawing the guitar strings while I'm playing... sitting on the keyboard on top of my hands, sitting on my face while I'm lying in bed, pawing my toes to play with me.... you name it. They do it!

Both cats cry for attention, and like suckers, J and I respond to them even though we know it only encourages their bad behaviour.

Spike will try to use me as a scratching post: he'll stretch up, hook his claws into the waist-band of my pants (yeah, I'm kinda short) and then pull. Lately, because I've lost weight and my pants don't fit me properly, this results in him pulling my pants down. Fortunately he's yet to attempt this in front of company.

Luna will climb on me and basically make it impossible to touch the computer.

Whitey will either start attacking the other cats or he will knock things over.

Patches cries or meows...depending on how you want to hear it

Tab gives me a funny look. It's more or less just a really long stare with no blinking involved. And if that fails, its a meow. Or a scratch of the door...

...or the carpet!

As I am sitting here right now, Alley is on my lap. But when she really wants me to quit ignoring her, she crawls up and sticks her face right in my face. But she always looks around to make sure that Persi is not watching!

Miagi will meow his head off and also bump my leg with his whole body when I am on the computer or jump up in my lap.

Tiger will meow to get mine or when I am sleeping he will put his whole head in my face and rub his mouth up my nose and meow as loudly as he can like he is like you have slept enough lady, now get up!
or if I am eating something he will come investigate especially if it's cereal. he loves cereal and loves drinking the milk out of my bowl.

my dogs will whine or paw at me for attention or just stare at me.

Our 15 year old lovely little Dusty has earned the nickname "attention ho" because she tries so very desperately to get aaaalll the attention her DivaNess deserves!

She will cry, low gutteral noises, stare with that "Hannibal Lecter" stare, reach up and paw you til ya pet her... pick her up... hold her... love on her. When she's safely in-lap or being cradled, she will still 'milk tread' and then starts the ultra-sonic purring that you can hear from the next room.

Snickers, 16 yrs, just follows me! Follows me all over the place. I always pick him up and hold him, cuz he loves it, and he knows it. Also at nighttime, for those nights he makes it upstairs to sleep on my legs... he usually comes up to my head and nibbles on the back of my head. I have long hair so he makes lots of drooly noises as he nibbles. This is his way of making his point a 3am to say, "pet me mommy".

We have a singing cat too. Skippy... both him and his brother are very vocal but Skippy will do this jaw-dropping sing-song to us! To get petted, loved on, or sometimes if Hammie's cleaned out the food bowl... to be fed.

Hammie is also kinda an attention ho. He does the Hannibal Stare but it's way more innocent and sweet (Puss N Boots pupils). Or he'll just rub his butt on me til I pet him.
