well i got Neko and Willie the wet Felidae. I gave them the Chicken and rice and Neko hated it and Willie tried it and would eat it but he was not to thrilled. I don't think Willie liked the texture, Neko would not even try it. i still have to give them the other flavor and see if Neko will eat it or if Willie will like this flavor enough that he gets over the bad texture. If not we'll have to try something else. i once gave them Fancy feast, this one http://www.elegantmedleys.com/
and they loved it but i don't like the ingredients. Does anyone know a food with that texture? What texture does innova, Evangers and Merricks have?

My cats didn't like Felidae either. However, right now I am mixing Felidae with Innova (same texture) and one of them is eating that. Merricks has kind of a soupy texture (not the same as elegant medleys though), and I'm not sure about Evangers. Mine go nuts for elegant medleys too but I don't like the ingredients either. I'm still looking for a healthy wet food that they really like.

My cat is picky about texture, and would only eat Fancy Feast until I found Fromm family foods. Chicken and Beef are her favorites. They're a little pricey, but grain free, and they claim that they make the foods in a human food plant.
Hope that helps : ) I know that it can be hard finding somethign they'll eat.

If you find one they like let me know. The smell may have put Neko off too. Has anyone ever opened a can of wet that they actually thought smelled good (I know of dog food that does
)?

I had issues introducing one of my cats to Felidae chicken and rice as well! What I did was everytime I filled the bowl with dry I would put a little scoop ontop of his food so he would have to at least give it a taste to get to his desired yummy's. He became a huge fan... this coming from a cat who would never touch wet food of any kind or people food! It took alot of patience but as of two days ago I had to take him off of the wet because he got very sick from a dietary change! He was getting wet Felidae in the morning and night and then Innova Evo Dry after breakfast (less than 1/2 a cup)! Apparently that diet was to harsh/rich for his tummy! Anyways Im rambling off topic. My cats like Wellness but I don't give that anymore because it is produced at Menu (paranoia but better safe than sorry)! I say try the other formulation and if that doesn't work give others a try!

Personally I think you should try the Merrick's next. My cats either LOVE or HATE each flavor, it's a very individual thing when it comes to Merricks. As a group, the favorites are Grammy's Pot Pie and Southern Delight. Some of mine like the Cowboy cookout and Thanksgiving day dinner...but some of mine won't touch them.
Surf and Turf was OK, and I don't think we've tried the most fishy ones...could be a hit, though.

ETA...the meat in the Merricks is minced and as another poster mentioned it's got kind of a soupy consistency. I think it smells like real food for the most part.

Well it's tough to be sure of much these days...but Merrick's does have their own plants for making/canning their food. I'm not sure about US ingredients, I have not verified that. I do have a lot more trust in Merrick's than many other brands at the moment.

They have some info on their site, at the link in the bottom right corner of the main page...

My cats love Merricks. We swiched to Merricks from Fancy Feast (cuts w/ gravy) several months ago and they don't seem to like any other wet food now. It smell's alot more like "real food" . My cat's favorite Merrick's is New England Boil at the moment. They also like Surf and Turf and Cowboy Cookout.

Feliday wet didn't go over well with my Princess Picky Pants (AKA Maggie) either. She would eat the chicken & rice, but wouldn't touch the stuff that has fish in it.

My cats loved that fancy feast elegent medley, but they don't like Merricks.

Have you tried adding a little water to the Felidae? That's what I have to do, then they eat it.

Fromms is manufactured in China, and Solid Gold Tuna is manufactured in Thailand.

My trick is to wet the food with distilled water, 1 tsp.
also add a small toping of dry food.
At least the darn cat will at least try it instead
of sniff and leave.
They may not still eat but at least they will eat the
dry off and taste the can food below. Sometimes I get
better results.

My girl is a FF addict, but I only feed now the ones without
gravy, the gourmet chicken feast is her fav. and not too bad ingredients
and I think the liver and chicken is o.k. too. I sometimes mix
really good quality wet food in, that makes me feel better. haha.
Since she eats a small portion of quality dry - Ca. Natural & raw Instinct..
I dont fret about it.

Oh, I did put dry food on. The first time he just picked out each kibble individually sniff it and see if it had wet food on it, if it did he would not eat it, if it did not then he ate it up. the second time he started like that but he was hungrier since it was in place of a normal meal he ate ll the kibble. What i did instead of just putting the kibble on top I put down the kibble than made small wet food balls with my fingers and snuck them in under the dry. he ate three balls but would not touch the rest, Willie did it for him, Willie liked the texture since it was full of kibbles.

I hope you have better luck with the Merricks. I think it has a good chance. My cats will eat the Felidae, but I can tell it's not their favorite.

I can't remember if it was surf/turf or sothern delight...but I put some down the other day and even Beandip wanted a taste. Normally the only "wet" food he is willing to eat is raw...so that says alot. It seems like enticing stuff.

I've been told to stay away from distilled and drinking water when it comes to cats! Spring water is fine and that is what my cats drink! Im sure it's no big deal if you are adding just a teaspoon of distilled with the food but I thought I would put it out there!

My cats have recently tried Wellness wet and we have hit kitty 'gold'.

I am torn due to the Menu association....and there is trace garlic in the ingredients (do they really need the extra 'palatibilty'?) I am not super concerned..( it's in a rotation).I do like the Wellness site (very detailed)

http://www.oldmotherhubbard.com/wellness/cat_index.html

The 'ingredient dictionary' is a nice touch.

And NO ONE pukes after the Wellness wet, and usually I can count on my 2 'happy pukers' for a little post meal gift.

Merricks is meh. A little goopy for some...others lick the bowl (mealtime in cat world...hah). And my cats aren't ones to turn their noses to any wet. But they had similar reactions to the soupier merricks and Chicken Soup. I think overall they prefer pate style...more 'formed'.

I had a couple FF addicts and the only consistant wet food that has made them happy has been the Wellness and the Natural Balance.

I still have to try Felidae....but everyone is pretty happy at the moment so havent wanted to rock the boat. We are onto a good dry/wet groove (this week).

If they are happy I would stick to what you're feeding them now!
