Why does he drool?

I tried to give Onyx his worm pills today, two Drontal, and he completely freaked out and started foaming at the mouth and drooling everywhere. I tried crushing the second one and dissolving it in water and when I try to squirt it in his mouth I get the same reaction. I'm not particularly looking forward to the next dose in 10 days, which is 4 Pyrapam tablets

Any idea what would cause this reaction from him? Hes always been an easy kitty to pill...

Some medications taste worse than others and will cause drooling.

Sometimes they just drool from the reaction and the stress of it all. Worm medicine is after all a poison we introduce to our kitties when they need it. It is best to get a pillgun and try and use that, as that way it won't stay in the mouth that long and will just go down the throat.

Next time, just stand by with some tasty morsel for him to give him immediately after the pilling. Something he loves that he doesn't get very often.
