I recently started using World's Best Cat Litter and I'm pretty happy with it so far, but I just noticed they make an "Extra Strength" formula as well. I live in an apartment and could use as much odor control as possible! The thing is, my cat doesn't like heavily scented litter. The website says it contains "a plant derived ingredient" to control odor, and that it has no "perfume"...but does the plant derived ingredient have a scent (like an essential oil)? Anyone know?

I've only ever used the multi cat formula (which is what you're talking about). I've never found the odour offensive, mearly a warm natural sent. Don't worry, it's not flowery or anything...nothing to be concerned with

I definatley wouldn't call it a "warm natural scent"... I couldn't stand the smell of the stuff. But I'm fussy. It definatley wasn't perfumed, more... earthy. To me it smelled like barn (only not, because I like the smell of barn).

I like the smell of the regular WBCL (it's not perfumey, just kind of um, well, "corn-y"), but I don't know if they've added something additional to the extra strength version. One warning though, it does a great job with the liquid, but nothing at all for the smell of the solids.

Great, thanks!

Yeah, I'm fine with the corny/barny smell of the regular version. I was mostly concerned that the extra-strength version smelled a lot stronger. I know everyone's nose is different, but just wanted to get people's thoughts. I'll give it a try on my next bag.

Try Sscoop Wheat litter. I used to use wBCL extra strength but I find that Sscoop covers odor better and the actual litter it's self doesn't have any smell that I notice. Also it's much cheaper, I just brought the 40lb bag from PetFoodDirect for $22.
