Tomas woke me up attacking a piece of paper on the bedroom floor this morning.
At first I thought he was just being annoying but finally got sick of it and got up to see what he was so fascinated with... He had a scorpion trapped under it!

Sho usually finds them and more or less plays "pointer" cat, he shows me but lets me deal with them.
I was worried and thoroughly checked all of Tomas's paws and face. Then again a few hours later. He's a lucky kitten.

Lucky scorpion too, I scooped it up with an empty cup and put it outside.

We usually find one or two of these inside a year, the last one we found a few months ago was crawling across the bed.

Looks like Tomas is sharpening his hunting skills. Someone has to teach him though that scorpions may not be good for his training.

He didn't have to bring it in, we have problems with scorpions sneaking in somehow.

I'm glad he didn't actually catch it, I realized later how awful that would have been. If he didn't get stung he would have brought it to me in bed and dropped it on my chest, like he does with his toys and other finds.
