Hi everyone,
I'm new here and found this site while searching for some info on cat introductions to help me deal with my anxieties about recently getting another cat! So far I've found a lot of really useful info here. No pictures yet (I hope to post a couple soon), but here is an introduction to my 2 cats:

Honzo is a 6-year old grey tabby cat. My husband and I have had him ever since he was a kitten, and although he is shy around other people, he is very outgoing, loving, and fun around us. He's also the most vocal cat I've ever nee around!

Tomoe is our new cat--she's a 4-year old black and white kitty. We've only had her for about 2 weeks. As you can imagine, this has been quite an ordeal for Honzo, who was always a solo cat until Tomoe showed up! She's a sweetie and has bonded with us really well, especially considering everything she's been through. She was apparently abandoned by her previous owner (she has a microchip and was traced back to where she was originally adopted, but the owner no longer lived at the address they had on file). She was starving and wandered up to the door of (thankfully!) a fellow cat lover, who took her in and had her checked out by the vet. We adopted Tomoe from her. Nowadays Tomoe is a great little explorer and she really wants to play with Honzo. Unfortunately he's not yet "ok" with her--that's why I'm having anxieties! But we're taking the introduction slow, to make it easier on them.

I'm just really happy to have found an active community of cat people! I think this is a great resource and I hope to stick around.

I'm sorry that you are having to go through the introductions, but we look forward to hearing about how they are playing and romping around in another couple of months !

How did your introductions turn out? I recently went through the same thing and found the information I needed right here on The Cat Site. My cats are best of buddies now.

Welcome Tomoe, Honzo, and Sunwise

to TheCatSite and so glad you found us -- you're sure to get lots of great help and information on intro-ing new cats into the family, and you're so right -- this is a great community! It feels so great being in the company of other cat lovers, doesn't it?

As you can see, we have a rather large furfamily here -- all nine of The Nine are rescues, spayed/neutered, and indoors-only. We all get along pretty well, most of the time. There are occasional ego issues, but they're resolved pretty quickly, and there's no serious damage done. Hope that soon, Tomoe and Honzo are curling up together and playing together, washing one another, and "catpiling"!

Enjoy the forums and hope you'll visit often. Btw, are you familiar with King Street Cats there in Alexandria?
