Hi,

My name is Patti. I live in Oregon, and I am the momma for a sweet little 5 month old boy named Pogue. I was the momma for two kitties, but last week we lost our sweet 4.5 year old girl, Pooka, from liver failure. (non-food related) Pogue had only just started to get to know her, so he is not experiencing grief that we can tell, but he can see ours and works hard to cheer us up.

I found this forum when doing a search on "large kitty boogers" of all things. When we got Pogue from a shelter a month ago, he came with a sneezing/large booger problem that we are working on kicking. Unfortunately, he also came with a raging case of Giardia that we are tackling as well. He is smart, sweet, energetic boy and we just love him to peices.

A relative just took in a pregnant stray kitty girl, who is due any day. We have agreed to adopt one of the kittens when they come, and are ready to be weaned. That will give us time to get Pogue fully healthy and ready for a young sibling. (Hopefully the new kitten will come with good health too.)

Welcome! I'm really sorry to hear about the loss of your Pooka.

Pogue is very cute and looks like he has a little bit of "stinker" in him even with all his health issues. I hope he feels better soon. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a message.

This is such a great site and everyone here is so nice and helpful! Also this site can be very informative Anywho tho O my what a cutie u have there So expressive too ! also thats great that ur relative took in that stray, and also that u are taking one of the kittens ! Hello Pattie, sorry to hear of your loss. Pogue is gorgeous, he has the same white bib on his chest that my 7 1/2 m/o Blossom has. Look forward to hearing all about him & hope he gets better soon.
Make sure your sister doesn't let the kittens go to their new homes too soon as they need to socialize with each other & have their mum teach them all they need to know. Blossom was found dumped at 3 weeks & I had to raise her. Also our 2 dogs came to us too soon & have some issues with other dogs. Cat breeders won't let their kittens go until at least 12 weeks, I know its a long time to wait, but worth it in the end.
