What brand of food do you recommend for my cats? I have tigger who
is extremely over weight see pic below
Tigger

I have Saphira who is the stray that I took in...she was pregnant and
very underweight you can tell by how tiny she is in the pic a few hours
before she had her kittens...also I believe she is still a kitten herself she
will be going to the vet when her kittens are old enough to leave the
house for a few...

Price of cat/kitten food is unimportant as I will only buy the best for my babies
...I would just like to know a variety of opinions so that I have many options
to choose from...Also we will be keeping one of the kittens...so I will need to
know some good brands of kitten food as well as adult...thanks so much for
your advice!

Hi. Your first kitty looks like my Puff! Puff's also overweight. Others here advised me to give him wet in his diet to help slim him down. I guess the wet has less calories? So not as much goes toward belly fat.

I feed Chicken Soup for the Cat lovers soul. I buy it in a 18lb bag and I think it's about $18 dollars. It's a middle grade food but best of all they have no affiiation with Menu!

Before feeding Chicken Soup I fed Wellness. It is better quality however they do business with Menu. So until all this recall stuff is over I'm not feeding Wellness.

There is a list in Nutrition section that tells you what safe food (non-menu made food) there is. There's several different companies to choose from.

I'm sure others will jump in and offer their advice as well. Congrats on the kitten.

I did find out how to make the mom gain weight today...I talked with the vet who said to use high quality canned kitten food an all natural egg yolk and some KMR...heat kitten food and KMR for about 10 seconds then add the egg yolk...I done that and Saphira loved it!
