Can you find out your beliefs with a quiz.

I don't know how accurate it will be, but I am willing to try it. Who would think this kind of thing up anyway? http://www.beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html

Well, it can lead you in directions and make you think, but that quiz is overly complicated (asking people to rate the importance of an answer seems strange to me) and it once told me I was all kinds of things I don't think I am.

Religion is a whole lot more than agreeing/disagreeing with dogma. You can be reared in a religion and identify with it without really truly agreeing with all the finer points-- or even knowing them-- and it doesn't make you less a member of it! And some religions are very unlikely to fully accept outsiders.

Meh. It's helpful for figuring things out and thinking about them, maybe not for recommending a church/temple/etc

I found that it gave some interesting perspectives, but for me, my faith grows and changes with me as I grow and change, can't factor that into a quiz!

I am apparently a Unitarian Universalist, which I gather basically means my religion is "meh, whatever, just don't hurt anybody." I'm 100% that, and 96% Liberal Quaker. Neat. (And here I thought I'd be 100% nontheist ...)

well, if you answer truthfully, it's more accurate. hit mine on the nose. one of the questions didn't have the answer i really wanted, so i picked the closest one, but rated it low. so i liked the rating system - it allowed me to 'fine-tune' my answer.
btw, no surprise to me, or anyone who's read my posts - i came up
1. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (100%)

Your results sound a lot like what mine were.

Unitarian is a bit more complicated than that... but, yea, basically.

I was also a unitarian universalist.

Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestant. As accurate as these things can be, it is.

I was about to blow this off... but I took the quiz just to see what it would tell me. It hit the nail on the head: Neo-Pagan!
I was "Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (100%)" too- (surprise! ) but some of the answers weren't quite what I (or my denomination believe- mostly too harsh or legalistic ), so I just went with the best one I could figure out, and "fine tuned" it too .

That was interesting .

I've taken this test before, and to no surprise, it scored me as exactly what I am - 100% Catholic.
I'm an agnostic atheist - and yet the quiz gave me 100% Mahayana Buddhism.

This does not surprise me. I remember once I was discussing my beliefs and my personal ideals with my sister-in-law's grandmother (a wonderful, wise old woman) and when the conversation ended she said, `So, you're a Buddhist, like me'. I'd never studied or read about Buddhism, I still haven't. And yet I'm always pleased and gratified to learn that so many of the things I truly believe in are already embodied in a belief system. It's nice to feel like you're not alone.

Meh, to be expected... 1. Secular Humanism (100%)
2. Unitarian Universalism (90%)
3. Liberal Quakers (75%)

Neo-Pagan 70% was interesting- it seems I am losing faith with my Gods
I like Quakers, very nice people

Interesting quiz - I am what I figured - 100% Christian
post #19 of 26
I pegged myself as a Secular Humanist a few years back. The quiz had me at 100% and the others just didn't fit me.

Odd! Here's my top three. I was raised 'Hellfire & Brimstone Southern Baptist'....married and divorced a lapsed Catholic. I guess that just leaves me confused!

To answer the thread's question, I think tools like this are helpful in showing you which general religion or system of belief guides you, but they are difficult to answer when someone is quite sure of their beliefs... some people are on this spiritual path their entire lives, and it isn't necessarily a bad thing.
